The intervention focuses on the rehabilitation and renewal of an
agricultural complex in A-da-Gorda, Óbidos, composed of a
group of five buildings intended for learning programmes and
community support. The central building, of greater volume, is
converted into an auditorium, assuming a structuring role
within the ensemble. The intervention forms part of a set of
three operations promoted by the Municipality of Óbidos aimed
at territorial requalification through anchor buildings and new
programmes of collective use: the community centre and
auditorium in A-da-Gorda, the co-work and cultural centre in
Gaeiras, and the Praça da Criatividade, in the Arrifes area
adjoining the walls of Óbidos.
The project proposes the renewal of the existing buildings while
preserving their local character, introducing new roofs as an
element of architectural unification. Rather than homogenising
the pre-existing structures, the intervention establishes a
coherent reading of the ensemble through a shared strategy.
The exterior spaces are upgraded so as to form a small urban
structure, articulating the buildings and ensuring continuity of
the public realm.

A intervenção incide na reabilitação e renovação de um
complexo agrícola em A-da-Gorda, Óbidos, constituído por um
conjunto de cinco edifícios destinados a programas de
aprendizagem e de apoio à população. O edifício central, de
maior volumetria, é reconvertido em auditório, assumindo um
papel estruturante no conjunto. A intervenção integra-se no
conjunto de três operações promovidas pelo Município de
Óbidos para a requalificação do território através de edifícios
âncora e de novos programas de uso coletivo: o centro
comunitário e auditório em A-da-Gorda, o co-work com centro
cultural em Gaeiras e a Praça da Criatividade, na área dos
Arrifes, contígua à muralha de Óbidos.
O projeto propõe a renovação dos edifícios existentes
preservando o seu carácter local, introduzindo as novas
coberturas como elemento de unificação arquitectónica. A
intervenção não procura homogeneizar as pré-existências, mas
estabelecer uma leitura coerente do conjunto através de uma
estratégia comum.
Os espaços exteriores são qualificados de forma a constituir
uma pequena estrutura de uso urbano, articulando os edifícios
entre si e conferindo continuidade ao espaço público.
