The new building is inserted into the existing level
difference between the school’s two sports fields,
establishing a new entrance to the campus. At its
southern end, the building is defined by a volume
that concentrates the programmes with the
strongest relationship to the exterior, namely the
library and the multipurpose room. These spaces
operate as an anchoring point for the new volume,
establishing an active interface with the school’s
exterior space.
The first floor is entirely constructed in steel
structure, allowing for the definition of a system of
slender circular-section metal columns within the
library space. These columns are capped at roof
level by a continuous skylight, defining a matrix of
zenithal lighting.
The intervention enhances the fluidity of movement,
linking the pre-existing volumes and creating
intermediate spaces for informal and sheltered use.
All new buildings are designed to ensure a
continuous reading of the campus, guaranteeing a
unitary expression across the overall intervention.

A nova edificação implanta-se no desnível existente
entre os dois campos de jogos da escola,
configurando uma nova entrada no campus. Na
extremidade sul, o edifício é marcado por um corpo
que concentra os programas com maior relação com
o exterior, nomeadamente a biblioteca e a sala
polivalente. Estes espaços funcionam como ponto
de ancoragem do novo volume, estabelecendo uma
interface ativa com o espaço exterior da escola.
O piso 1 é integralmente executado em estrutura
metálica, permitindo a definição de um sistema de
pilares metálicos esbeltos, de secção circular, no
espaço da biblioteca. Estes pilares são rematados na
cobertura por uma clarabóia contínua, definindo uma
matriz de iluminação zenital.
A intervenção potencia a fluidez dos percursos,
ligando os volumes pré-existentes e criando espaços
intermédios de estadia informal e protegida.
Todos os novos edifícios são desenhados de modo a
assegurar uma leitura de continuidade, garantindo
uma expressão unitária da intervenção no conjunto
do campus.
