About the project

The proposal organises the core of the Óbidos Technological Park through two volumes of identical dimensions, whose apparent compactness is articulated by a system of structuring courtyards.

Six voids within each building fragment the mass and establish a direct relationship between interior space and the public realm. These courtyards provide natural light and cross ventilation while reducing the perceptual scale of the ensemble, promoting a more permeable architecture.

Access is distributed between formal entrances and informal routes opening onto the central square, reinforcing continuity between the buildings and public space. The square is defined by an open-air auditorium that mediates the site’s different levels and consolidates the civic character of the complex.

The project was developed to execution stage and achieved BREEAM pre-certification, integrating environmental performance, energy efficiency and sustainable resource management strategies.

The proposal defines a clear and adaptable built system capable of structuring the campus and establishing its central identity.
